“While driving the vehicle the warning system activated and the entire car shut down. I was stranded in an intersection of a busy street during a heavy traffic period. I was unable to start the vehicle, use my hazards, or put the car in neutral to push it to a safe location.”

NHTSA complaint #11506114, filed 2023-02, 36,101 miles

“On 3/25/23, I was driving down a 40m and then completely shut down. The entire engph road. I had been stopped at a stoplight and as soon as I started to drive again, the car started moving forwardine, all power (dashboard lights, display screen, everything). I panicked and went to go turn the caution lights on--they wouldn't work. As people behind me started honking, I tried to roll down my window to motion them on---the window wouldn't roll down. I had no choice but to open my car door, and stick my hand out to start waving people on behind me. …”

NHTSA complaint #11513866, filed 2023-03, 4,500 miles

“My 2021 Bronco failed our family on Friday. The Bronco failed to start upon pressing the start and brake pedal. The main console panel started flashing then cycling through all kinds of failure alerts. There was a series loud noises from the engine, the headlights flashed off and on for over 3 minutes and then the engine started smoking. The doors would not open and we were stuck inside while the engine was smoking. That smoke came through the air vents as well. Finally, I was able to get my door open though couldn’t open my son’s rear passenger side door from the outside. …”

NHTSA complaint #11549110, filed 2023-10, 28,296 miles

“On morning of Sept 2, 2021 I was driving home from my overnight shift as a nurse getting off about 0635, driving down a major street in the downtown area. I was approx 6 blocks from my hospital approaching a busy intersection and my Bronco Sport [2021] lost all power. Because my speed was only 30mph, it was easy to just come to a stop after a short roll Anytime the Bronco Sport shuts off it automatically goes into Park. So I had no power, not even flashers and could not put it into neutral to push it out of the intersection onto a side street. …”

NHTSA complaint #11432247, filed 2021-09, 5,000 miles

“Vehicle completely shut down while driving. No working lights and unable to put vehicle in neutral. Was stuck in a lane of traffic with nothing working. Same issue happened less than 2 weeks ago, dealership had the vehicle for 7 days and said they found nothing wrong and couldn’t fix it. Tow truck driver told us it was the second Bronco he tower in 2 days with the same problem.”
