“I was driving in Atlanta in 4 lanes of heavy traffic. My new Bronco just started slowing down and I was almost killed by traffic swerving around me. The message said deactivated switch and fuel injector faulty. Then Bronco completely stopped and would not crank. 100 degree heat in bad part of town. Stranded and scared. After being towed, the deactivated switch replaced in Ford dealership in Georgia. No loaner given. After 2 weeks at my expense, I get car back. 2 months later it happens again. Now, it’s in dealership for third time for 2 more weeks. Waiting to hear what’s wrong. …”
NHTSA complaint #11478195, filed 2022-08, 4,000 miles“The vehicle stalled [halted] on my daughter while in motion in moving traffic. The vehicle became inoperable and was towed to depaula Ford albany ny. The vehicle stalled as a result of a faulty fuel pump and only has 1449 miles. My daughter could have been injured as a result of the vehicle disablement in flowing traffic on a busy city street. Fuel pump replacements are a substantial defect that impairs the car's use, value, and most important safety. This is a serious safety defect to the fuel and emission system. Fuel pump problems are typically mileage dependent issues. …”
NHTSA complaint #11406545, filed 2021-04, 1,449 miles“Vehicle stutters when accelerating under normal driving conditions, causing uneven acceleration which can be dangerous in a situation where I am merging into traffic or turning from a stop onto a roadway. I believe this may be connected to the fuel injector recall which has been open without repair options since July 2025.”
NHTSA complaint #11730553, filed 2026-04“Contacted Dealer to schedule Recall 22V859. I was informed parts on back order. I can smell raw fuel, at times while driving. Although this recall does not address the core problem (cracked fuel injectors), Ford should have had the parts available for the temporary fix, prior to sending out the letter to customers.”
NHTSA complaint #11513407, filed 2023-03“This vehicle has had the same recall for longer than a year now that Ford doesn't seem to have any kind of remedy for. They just keep inspecting and reprogramming. How many fires need to happen under the hood of these vehicles before Ford is forced to either replace the fuel injectors or compensate their customers in some way? I drive around with kids in my car. Safety is not up for negotiation and this has taken far longer than it should have.”
