“On may first of 2014 my check engine light and oil light came on. I assumed I needed oil, so I went to the advanced auto store and purchased some oil. I put the oil in and began to proceed home. I was driving and the oil light was showing as hot. The car would not give enough power for me to drive, it began to shake. The car is not drivable anymore. It is still doing the same thing. After some research I discovered that this car's make and model is a recall car. I need to know what to do.”

NHTSA complaint #10609675, filed 2014-07, 135,495 miles

“2000 Ford Expedition v8 4.6l xlt stalls when gas is at 1/4 tank and at a forward angle (downhill). This happens when going 55 on the freeway, come to a slight decline and vehicle stalls and dies. Could cause an accident. I can not sell this car and get a new Ford, knowing some could get hurt. We don't let our kids drive it.”

NHTSA complaint #10211236, filed 2007-12, 25,000 miles

“Driving down the road and hear a knocking in the engine. Open up hood and find that we have blown a spark plug. This has happened three times in my 2000 Expedition. We have been stranded unless we find the spark plug or are able to get a new spark plug. Also the wiring has had to be replaced due to this issue. Unfortunately the last time it blew was in the middle of the california desert in 100 plus temperatures.”

NHTSA complaint #10233878, filed 2008-07, 152,000 miles

“2000 Ford Expedition 5.4l my spark plug ejected from the motor causing the coil to eject as well. It has happened twice now. I took it to the shop and because I do not have the funds to have the head rethreaded they would only due a temporary repair.”

NHTSA complaint #10315895, filed 2010-03, 132,000 miles

“I own a 2000 Ford Expedition and my spark plug ejected out of the cylinder head. When is anyone going to make Ford fess up to their design flaw and issue a recall or at least fix this problem for their consumers that have had this issue?”
