“My vehicle experienced significant transmission shift issues, skipping gears, stuck in gears, going to wrong gears, and inability to shift, that left me disabled in intersections multiple times. The situation worsened over time and had to have the transmission replaced. The failure was diagnosed as a CDF coupling failure.”

NHTSA complaint #11760385, filed 2026-08

“My truck because of the transmission and it's powertrain faults; puts itself in low power mode. I can be driving fine, stop for a red light, to turn a corner or before pulling into oncoming traffic leaving a parking lot etc and without warning, no power. It won't go over 5-10 miles an hour. You have to let off the gas and give gas sometimes more than once to get the truck to finally pick up and go. I have almost been hit countless times because I suddenly couldn't get out of the way of oncoming traffic. …”

NHTSA complaint #11727476, filed 2026-03

“Unintended acceleration event. Initial condition: Cruise control off. Steering wheel turned 270 degrees ccw, turning left, at a complete stop, released brake, rolling forward at less than 5mph in a confined parking garage. Continuing to turn wheel to left, my right palm accidently engaged the cruise control button on the steering wheel. Cruise control automatically set to 15mph and began to accelerate. I was able to engage the brake again in enough time to deactivate cruise control. …”

NHTSA complaint #11604967, filed 2024-07

“Vehicle regularly loses all throttle response for 5-10 seconds, usually around corners at low speed, but sometimes while driving straight. This lack of response is alarming when pulling into traffic. There is no light on the dash indicating traction control is activated.”

NHTSA complaint #11630834, filed 2024-12

“The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle stalled. While at a stoplight, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to move or respond as needed. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, who informed the contact that the failure might be battery-related. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that there was no warranty coverage on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.”
