“Passenger seat belt had stuck in the partially retracted position. It won't come out and it won't go back. It had given some problems before, but I think they were related to pulling it out too far and the child adjustment feature kept tightening the belt. I have not been able to get it to come loose, nor have I had the time to go to the dealer.”

“This is regarding our rear seatbelts failing on our 2004 Ford F-150 1. My wife putting our car seats back in the truck 2. Two seatbelts fell apart, it appears as though a nut holding them came loose 3. Ford will not fix this under any warranty since I'm outside my warranty time. In my mind this should be a recall or a lifetime warranty. Both of these seatbelts were connected to 2 of our baby seats; at any time we could have simply hit the brakes and they both would have come loose. I'm surprised they want to wait until an accident occurs to make it a recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10275234, filed 2009-06, 62,000 miles

“Dt: was driving to work wearing seat belt and heard a click or pop from the seat belt near the shoulder of where the belt came out. Consumer thought it sounded mechanical in nature. Pulled at seat belt, there was no locking. After taking off seat belt, the seat belt did not retract. No repairs. Called 2 dealers, and they were of no help, but suggested to bring the vehicle to shop after the weekend for repairs. Had not contacted Ford customer service at this time but consumer planned to do so.”

NHTSA complaint #10131657, filed 2005-08, 10,005 miles

“Tailgate straps are the same length, but when you put pressure on the tailgate, only the lh tailgate strap supports the tailgate. The truck has vibration and steering wheel nibble problems. They have balanced the tires 4 times, replaced the tires. The fse from Ford took the vehicle for a ride and said it needs a new driveshaft. The brake dust is a big problem. You need to wash the wheels daily. Ford now has updated pads. I hope they replace them under warranty. Two of the rotors are also grooved. The truck has 3000 miles on it. It has been in 5+ times now! …”

“My son was in an accident 2 days ago and his air bags did not deploy. He center punched a lamp pole and totaled his truck. 2004 Ford f150. He has major whip lash, and hopefully that's all, but I believe it's because he had his seat belt on and it did it's job. Had the airbag deployed, it might have stopped him from being thrown as hard.”
