“Drivers side window regulator went out. Was driving down the road appx 45 MPH and the window just fell down. Startled me some but was able to keep control of vehicle. This will be second one replaced since I had the vehicle which I purchased brand new. Not one to usually complain but appears to be a widespread problem from early on in it's years. Thank you!”

NHTSA complaint #10523306, filed 2013-07, 101,000 miles

“I have had my 2004 f150 xlt supercrew for a year now and the power window regulator in all 4 windows have broken during that short period of time. The most recent failure happened on the front passenger window last night. Searching the internet shows that this is a well known issue with these vehicles, but Ford will not issue a recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10416413, filed 2011-07, 40,000 miles

“Driver side power window, this is the forth time I have to have window repair on my truck, previous time before last one, was in july only 4 months ago I had to pay almost $300 to repair window, and now last time paid $425 dollars to repair that very same window and this time is the window regulator. Window will make a loud noise and drop, unable to bring it up or closed again.”

NHTSA complaint #10484867, filed 2012-11, 113,000 miles

“2004 Ford f150 window falling. On july 27, 2010 I attempted to roll down my rear driver side window while driving, upon doing this there was a loud pop. I attempted roll the window back up but when I pushed the up button nothing happened. I was able to push the down button only to hear a grinding noise. My truck mileage is a little over 87k.”

NHTSA complaint #10345750, filed 2010-07, 87,000 miles

“I have lost 4 window regulators over the space of 2 years. I have replaced the drivers front , pass front twice pass rear once. I currently have a broom handle holding up drivers rear. This has gotten very old and tiresome. I worked for Ford dealerships for 27 years and I am very disappointed with the apparent disregard of quality is job 1.”
