“Urethane adhesive separation / paint separation from windshield frame. Windshield replacement after crack. When the windshield came out the paint came with the urethane adhesive as a solid coating on the adhesive. Windshield was not attached to the auto body frame.”
NHTSA complaint #10262419, filed 2009-03, 37,000 miles“Air vent adjustment failure, required replacement of plenum chamber. Cause of this problem was the failure of the adhesive on two foam pieces attached to two air blend doors which jammed because the foam fell off and prevented the doors from moving. In order to repair the problem the entire dashboard needed to be removed at a cost of just under $1000. I have contacted Ford for help in covering this expense and they have denied it since there is no recall notice outstanding. On line sites about this issue and the extensive repair cost are in the hundreds.”
NHTSA complaint #10442094, filed 2012-01, 35,783 miles“Windshield failure-while driving in 18 degree weather, windshield cracked 18 inches along base, approximately 3 inches from seal running from center of windshield to driver's side, left of steering column. Windshield was free of snow or ice, and no wipers running, had been driving for 10 minutes, defrost setting on medium. Crossroads Ford of cary service blames chip in windshield, invisible to owner. Unwilling to repair defect under warranty. Owner might accept this explanation if chip could be seen by naked eye.”
NHTSA complaint #10256062, filed 2009-01, 11,000 miles“2007 Ford F-150 super cab built in dearborn. Passenger side/right side of windshield wiper cowl rubbing on hood and can not be adjusted. Upon further investigation noticed passenger side/right side of front bumper forward 1/2 inch when compared to left. The area where the hood and passenger fender join the cab has been mis-welded 1/4 at the factory according to the dealership. Upon further research I have noticed several other vehicles of this model and 2007-2008 years both have similar issue, thought not as noticeable as my vehicle. …”
