“The fuel pump driver module design is terrible on these trucks. Luck for my family we were in town going slow when this unit shorted out. If we would have been at highway speeds who knows what could have happened. This could have been a very grave and dangerous situation. From reading on the internet there is a serious problem with this part.”

NHTSA complaint #10644284, filed 2014-10, 98,887 miles

“I was driving down the highway and as I was making a right hand turn my motor turned off. I had no steering and little brakes to get me off the road. I took the truck to my mechanic and he told me the fuel module was cracked. This is common on f150's and I feel Ford should have a recall on this before someone gets hurt. Thanks”

NHTSA complaint #10627873, filed 2014-08, 44,560 miles

“I started my truck after washing it, it was running rough so I shut it off and tried to restart it and it would not start. After having it towed to a repair garage the technician discovered the fuel module was bad, and had to be replaced it. After looking on line I found out that this is a common problem with these trucks from 2004-2008 models. Sounds like a poor design.”

NHTSA complaint #10557826, filed 2013-12, 111,400 miles

“I returned my Ford F-150 to the dealership for the third time to correct the problem with the brake pedal traveling past the accelerator pedal during normal braking. Ford is not recognizing the problem and the dealership sales manager acknowledges he has replicated the problem intermittently; however, because Ford refuses to acknowledge the problem there is nothing they can do. …”

NHTSA complaint #10496797, filed 2013-02, 52,148 miles

“Took to dealer for check engine lite. They found fpcm ready to crack in half. Told me I was lucky the truck made it to the shop. Excessive corrosion between frame and module result of a very poor design. Not covered by warranty. Should be a recall. They claim their replacing 2 to 3 a week. This dealer didn't even put upgrade spacer bolts on. Here I thought they were helping me!”
