“Engine was running rough on the freeway. When I exited, the engine stopped running. I had to have it towed to the garage. The mechanic diagnosed the problem as the fuel pump driver control unit. He said it is a common problem with the f150 trucks. My opinion is this is a safety problem and the driver module was damaged due to corrosion.”

NHTSA complaint #11047270, filed 2017-11, 68,500 miles

“On sunday 12/14/14 at 7pm my 2008 Ford F-150 shut off when I was going 65 MPH down the new york state thruway. I was stuck on the side of the road for hours waiting for it to be towed. Turns out the fuel pressure module (fpm) that is mounted in the back of the truck on a crossmeber of the frame up above the spare tire was the cause. Ford needs to recall these 2004-2008 Ford F-150 that use this fpm before someone gets killed on the side of the road!”

NHTSA complaint #10664483, filed 2014-12, 54,000 miles

“I had problems with the throttle sticking and I put my ob11 on and isaid code p2104 and p2111 .so icalled and they say its a well know problem.if you don't know what to do I can see some one get hurt so I think it should be a recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10557910, filed 2013-12, 64,000 miles

“Gas gauge in 2008 Ford f 150 fails to read correctly. I fill up and it doesn't show the correct amount of gas in the truck. I recently found out this is a common problem with these trucks. Why isn't the company doing anything to help fix the problem. I am sure this is not a cheap fix. How can you send your children out in this vehicle noing they could either run out of gas anywhere or stall out on the highway and be hit from behind by someone going 65 MPH.”

NHTSA complaint #10408513, filed 2011-06, 100,000 miles

“When I brake the engine sounds like its racing louder and louder and seems like I'm excellerating instead of stopping. Its very hard to stop in time at a stop sign and I can't. I almost it a crossing car.this problem happened several times with myself and also when my husband drove the truck.we took it to a mechanic. The same happened to 2 mechanics at the shop on test drives. They have a theory it is happening because when we take our foot off the gas pedal and put it on the brake to brake we are too close to the gas pedal and are unknowingly pressing both at the same time. …”
