NHTSA complaint #11614404, filed 2024-09, 132,000 miles“I was driving out of a gas station and the auto stop start warning came on as I was accelerating and lost all power steering and I was able to coast away from traffic. I had to put it in park and restart the engine. I have no idea what caused this issue as I put well over 400 miles a week on my truck and this was the first acurrance.”
NHTSA complaint #11374089, filed 2020-11, 30,750 miles“When fueling the fuel nozzle became stuck in the capless fuel system. When we finally got the nozzle out (after 15 minutes) the flap was broken. We took it to Ford dealership and they said it was not covered under warranty due to people shoving the bigger diesel nozzles in, this was a regular auto diesel nozzle that was used.”
NHTSA complaint #11258510, filed 2019-09, 26,000 miles“I have had two run away full accelerations in this new truck. I accelerated firmly and the accelerator refused to disengage. At over 90 mphm I put the car in neutral, the RPM increased and I shut off the key. Next time in the same drive it happened again and I immediately shut off the key. I will notify my dealer tomorrow. I will not drive in this vehicle again. As an experienced commercial pilot I have been trained how to deal with this issue but the public has no clue what to do.”
NHTSA complaint #11151116, filed 2018-11, 4,144 miles“I was driving, I looked down because my truck was unresponsive, my truck had died, a warning light had come on stating the following: Auto Start/Stop Shift to P, then Restart Engine . I was on the interstate, in a two lane construction zone, I had to pull over into the construction area, stop my truck, and try and restart. After a minute or two, I was able to restart my truck and re-enter the road way. A very dangerous situation, luckily I did not have my children in the vehicle at the time. I scheduled a service appointment after this and was told it was the fuel pump control module. …”
