NHTSA complaint #11614404, filed 2024-09, 132,000 miles

“I was driving out of a gas station and the auto stop start warning came on as I was accelerating and lost all power steering and I was able to coast away from traffic. I had to put it in park and restart the engine. I have no idea what caused this issue as I put well over 400 miles a week on my truck and this was the first acurrance.”

NHTSA complaint #11374089, filed 2020-11, 30,750 miles

“While driving on the freeway at approximately 75 miles per hour with cruise control on suddenly lost power. The maintenance symbol came on and the drive function eco, tow, wet road and sport were not available. After pulling off the highway, I turned off the engine after 5 minutes I started it up and all functions were normal. I continued driving to my destination and had no further incidents.”

NHTSA complaint #11286599, filed 2019-12, 15,500 miles

“Engine makes a very loud clicking and ratcheting sound after every throttle lift for the first 15min of engine operation. I did not hear it until the Ford dealership worked on the intake system for the stumbling and hesitation issues. It can be hear over 300 feet away. My neighbors and friends all ask what is wrong with my new truck. I suspect the engine vibration issue is related to this very loud intake noise.”

NHTSA complaint #11161197, filed 2018-12, 4,103 miles

“5.0 has a distinct rattling noise at lower RPM's. The engine also has a loud knocking noise which is different from the rattling noise. I have experienced the gas pedal temporarily sticking and the engine has a miss. Also way down on fuel economy at 11mpg's. This vehicle is 3 months old and dealership says and (Ford corporate supports dealership) that I have to pay out of pocket for any engine diagnostics regarding my 5.0 engine problems”
