“Plastic oil pan is warped and is leaking oil. Gap has formed between the pan and the RTV gasket. There is a known TSB 23-2083 from Ford outlining the issue. The has recently been redesigned. I was told that there is a design issue in the oil system and I could possibly have to replace the valve covers. So, now due to a known issue with the design of the oil system, I am getting charged $3000 to replace system.”

NHTSA complaint #11543166, filed 2023-09, 131,622 miles

“Vehicle engine shakes and shuts off when stopped and at idle. This happens after vehicle warms up and has been driven for at least 15 minutes. I have read many other complaints about Ford trucks doing the same thing. Have read that Ford is aware of problems with variable cam timing sensors and cam phasers, but are not issuing recall. This has happened to me at leadt 6 times.”

NHTSA complaint #11298011, filed 2020-01, 61,000 miles

“My 2016 f150 5.0 supercrewhas started to regularly stall when idling in park or when braking or coasting when coming to a intersection. I can immediately restart upon putting in park or neutral. Sometimes a check engine light comes on. Upon googling the problem it seems pretty common with no answers of certainty.”

NHTSA complaint #11323913, filed 2020-05, 117,000 miles

“For the last year my car have been leaking fumes and smelling of carbon monoxide. I have complained to mission valley Ford, big valley Ford and all star Ford. When I start the vehicle there is white smoke and a strong fume. They said it's the ecoboost. Secondly the turbo they say has gone out already at 87k miles and I believe the smell and the turbo is connected.”

NHTSA complaint #11064988, filed 2018-01, 47,000 miles

“Starting at 30,000 miles the truck had a rough idle at a stoplight or stop sign in gear, and then after a couple months I would shifting from reverse to drive and it shut down. Now sometimes when I come up to a stop sign or stop light it shuts off I was even at an intersection and it shut off this is a huge safety concern and Ford needs to fix it now. No code pops up and Ford cannot re-create it or fix it”
