“I was driving straight on route 5 in enfield ct, when I needed to apply the brakes there was no reaction from the vehicle. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor, I had to go up over a curb into grass to avoid other vehicles and get the vehicle to slow/stop without any brakes available. I almost crashed into a building.”
NHTSA complaint #11388265, filed 2021-01, 70,000 miles“I have little to no brakes first thing in the morning. After a couple of minutes they work fine. I believe it's a vacuum booster pump problem on the Ford 3.5 ecoboost motor. 3 dealerships failed to duplicate the problem. However it's a common occurrence to me. Pulling out of my driveway into traffic is a real danger to me and my family.”
NHTSA complaint #11306644, filed 2020-02, 2 miles“On 05/11/19 while driving I experienced nearly complete brake failure. I took the truck to my local mechanic who diagnosed the failure due to the master cylinder rupturing. Sequentially the leaking brake fluid drained into the brake booster which also had to be replaced. As this happened while I was driving it was quite miraculous no one was injured.”
NHTSA complaint #11207835, filed 2019-05, 43,740 miles“While driving on the freeway, I applied my brakes and noticed no reaction and my pedal went all the way to the floor to slow the truck. I was really luck there were no cars to my right because I would have rear ended the car in front of me. After all this I got a message for 'low brake fluid'. I passed 6 cars till I came to a stop.”
NHTSA complaint #11291824, filed 2019-12, 41,800 miles“Brakes went to the floor all of a sudden. I got a brake fluid low warning on the dashboard. Truck is regularly serviced but after doing a little research I found that there were a lot of people experiencing what I have going on. I do not feel safe driving my kids in my truck rendering it useless. Truck was stationary at the time of incident.”
