“I was driving around 35-40mph, slowing down, heading to a right hand turn lane. No vehicles in front of me. As I crossed over my lane into the turn lane my e-brake automatically came on and my pre collision braking light came on. No warning, nothing caused by me, and I have no clue how it happened. I had to physically pull the e-brake lever to release the brakes on a major road.”

NHTSA complaint #11634596, filed 2025-01

“Three warnings light up: Antilock Brake Fault, Hill Start Assist Warning, and Pre-Collision Assist Not Available. Brakes failed. I was fortunate that no one was in front of me but the truck barely stopped. Took full pedal to the floor to force lockup. I am filing the matter as it does appear to be a frequently occurring concern in 2021 and 2022 models based on what I have read to date.”

NHTSA complaint #11620661, filed 2024-10

“Recall 23S35 is not showing up for my vehicle even though I have the exact same issue. Dashboard alarm and message PARK Brake Fault Service Now and it activates my brakes. I took it to the dealership while it was still going on, even after I shut the truck off.”

NHTSA complaint #11696182, filed 2025-10

“Advancing forward in traffic to a stop sign on a downward slope in tow/haul mode. Stopped at the intersection and began to accelerate into a left hand turn. Initial acceleration was fine and then the rear tires locked up and squealed on the asphalt. Truck came to a stop and when I looked down the screen said the parking brake was on. I never activated the parking brake. Seemed to disengage on its own after a few seconds. Highly dangerous situation.”

NHTSA complaint #11538120, filed 2023-08

“My truck was parked on a slight slope in my driveway. I got in to move the truck to my normal parking space. When I started the truck I noticed the emergency brake was on. I put the truck into drive- the truck accelerated with my foot on the brake. The truck struck the corner of my deck and didn't stop until I hit the corner at my house. I had the brake pushed to the firewall and the truck would kept accelerating. Thankfully the airbags did not deploy. Significant damage was done to my house and my truck.”
