“My trucks brakes went to the floor board. No brakes, I barley missed being t-boned. I had new breaks about a 2 months ago. No brake fluid but no leakage on the ground. My son told me if could be the master cylinder so I looked it up to see how much one cost and seen recalls on 2014 f150 for failure of master cylinder but my VIN is not listed. Help please”
NHTSA complaint #11325274, filed 2020-05, 138,213 miles“Driving downhill on a city street warning light came on, low brake fluid. Brake pedal very soft and braking was very weak. I was close to a auto parts store. Put in almost a quart of brake fluid. Ford shop less than a mile away was closed until monday. Day I had this incident was sat. 10/3/20 I left vehicle at the shop in oroville.”
NHTSA complaint #11362617, filed 2020-10, 52,000 miles“While traveling at highway speed, while towing our rv, low brake fluid warning light came on and brakes failed. The only way I could safely stop was using the trailer brakes. I believe our vehicle should have been included in current recall, but Ford is stating our VIN is not part of recall.”
NHTSA complaint #11374293, filed 2020-11, 79,700 miles“Since I purchaced my truck in march of last year.twice I had brake pedal issues.when applying the brakes trying stop. The pedal was very slow to return to its normal position.the next time the pedal went completely to the floorboard as if I was bleeding the brakes. After both incidents I took it to the dealership's. Both dealership's said they are normal after road testing my truck.”
NHTSA complaint #10845840, filed 2016-03, 905 miles“The brakes suddenly went out while I was driving. I learned that the brake fluid in the master cylinder had leaked into the brake booster. There is no warning and it happens suddenly. In researching this, I learned there are thousands of Ford f150s that have the same problem.”
