“When the vehicle is first started, the brakes do not work. When I crank the vehicle and put in reverse the brakes do not have any pressure and the vehicle slowly grinds to a halt when I press the brakes extremely hard. About 1-2 minutes after cranking the brakes work fine. I have nearly backed down a large hill multiple times.”

NHTSA complaint #11115000, filed 2018-07, 60,000 miles

“Vacuum pump and brake booster has failed on my f150. Ford states that the vehicle is not covered under 15n05 extended coverage/recall. Vehicle was manufactured at the effected plants during the time listed in the bulletin. Ford is charging me over $1300 to fix my vehicle, despite this being a known safety problem.”

NHTSA complaint #11119631, filed 2018-08, 88,232 miles

“The brake vaccum pump makes noise on start up. This is the second one since I have had it. Theremember is also a loss of brake pressure. When tapping the brakes in reverse the pump will always make like a build up noise. Also extreme brake dust is visible on rims. I have brakes and roars just under the best you can get.”

NHTSA complaint #10821594, filed 2016-01, 65,000 miles

“While driving down the highway the fault code for timing chain p0016 came on and engine seized in the middle of the highway. I lost all power steering and brake power which caused me to almost collide with other vehicles trying to get off the highway with no power. After finally getting truck on the off ramp it took all I had to get it to stop at the intersection putting my life and the driver of the SUV at the intersection life in danger.”

NHTSA complaint #11185472, filed 2019-03, 167,000 miles

“When coming to a stoplight on a city street, brakes were applied but the engine raced to a high RPM . Next I pushed pedal harder but rear tires were now spinning on dry pavement. I put F-150 truck into park stopping inches from the car stopped ahead of me at stoplight.”
