“The advancetrac system pops up and will either slow the truck down or shut it right off.. I had a mechanic look at it and it still continued to do it...I have to shut it all down and try to restart it will sometimes drive for a short time or go for days. This has been going on for over a year where it will also go months without happening.”
NHTSA complaint #11324832, filed 2020-05, 160,000 miles“2011 Ford f150 starter problems. I've replaced starter on this vehicle multiple times and still have issue's. I turn ignition and all that happens is a screeching noise. After a couple tries it starts. Second issue is speed control issues. I was driving on city streets and all of a sudden my speedometer stopped working. My truck would not shift and had to manually shift gears.”

It also shifts hard some of the time when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear. I took my pick-up to our local Ford dealer, and they recommended a transmission update for $100.00 not covered by the extended warranty.”

NHTSA complaint #11269260, filed 2019-10, 20,000 miles“2011 Ford f150 lariat - when accelerating to pass, engine lights will flash and the truck will lose power. After several seconds of flashing, the engine light stays on and the truck decelerates. I shut the truck off and then re-started but the engine light stayed on. I was traveling on a highway and had to pull off to a city street. Very dangerous situation.”
