“I was driving on interstate approximatly 70 mph when it downshifted into second gear and and almost got rearended by a semi truck that was following behind my truck and luckily was able to swerve to miss hitting us. I Believe it is the 6r80 transmission conductor plate that is the cause of the issue”
NHTSA complaint #11758186, filed 2026-08, 200,159 miles“I used the remote starter in the morning to warm up my truck. As I entered the driver side door and sat down I heard a loud pop almost like a small gun fired. Shortly after I could hear the crunching of the rest of my back window shattering. I could also smell smoke inside the vehicle. After checking on line it seems this is a common issue with the rear de-froster.”
NHTSA complaint #11184612, filed 2019-03, 54,000 miles“We have had the back door lock freeze and cannot unlock back doors. We are replacing passenger back door lock for second time and have replaced driver side back door lock once. This is very dangerous as doors cannot be opened from inside and if in accident it could cause a death. There needs to be an investigation into this matter. Three times replacing locks is too much!”
NHTSA complaint #11192864, filed 2019-04, 113,000 miles“As reported by hundreds of other users, a faulty rear defroster has caused the rear windshield to spontaneously shattered and got pieces in the rear seat. Luckily I was parked at my work parking lot, and there was no child in the backseat. There needs to be a recall or a fix for this. As well as reimbursement for my window.”
NHTSA complaint #11195019, filed 2019-04, 50,000 miles“I went to start the vehicle and it would crank b ut not start. I found that a very common problem with this truck is the fuel pump fuse. I located this fuse and found that it was in fact blown, and melted in half. Ford has created a repair for this, because it is such a common problem, but has not issued a recall. This needs to be repaired by Ford for the customers at no charge.”
