“Vehicle in motion pulled up to a stop light (with start/stop disabled via the button) the light turned green before coming to a complete stop but the truck shut off. Then I was greeted with a window that displayed auto start unavailable shift to p to restart . I put the truck in park, restarted it, and it drove fine after that.”

NHTSA complaint #11387347, filed 2021-01, 495 miles

“While I was driving through a parking lot, and turning slightly left, the engine shut off completely and displayed auto startstop shift to p, then restart engine on the dash display. Fortunately, I was not trying to turn and cross traffic on a highway which could have resulted in a catastrophic t-bone collision. The auto start/stop function appears to be faulty and needs to be fixed/recalled before someone is seriously injured or killed. From researching online forums, the issue appears to be widespread and across multiple model years.”

NHTSA complaint #11404766, filed 2021-03, 800 miles

“The transmission slips when giving it gas. I lose power when I excelerate Sometimes. Sometimes the truck excelerates when I'm not giving It throttle. Transmission jumps all over. The transmission seems to be very rough shifting back and forth”

NHTSA complaint #11619502, filed 2024-10

“At approximately 9700 miles my truck has started malfuctioning and causing a safety risk. On takeoff the truck feels powerless until approximately 3 seconds after pressing the gas pedal. While crossing an intersection, I hit the gas which moved my truck forward very slowly in front of on-coming traffic but took approximately 3 seconds to start moving at the rate of speed a vehicle normally should. I could have been T-boned from this. …”

NHTSA complaint #11420183, filed 2021-06

“On 8/26/22 I smelled gas after parking 2020 F150 with ~ 33,000 miles. I had filled the tank the previous day ( <20 miles driven since that time). I was in a marina parking lot at that point and dismissed the smell as perhaps someone spilling some fuel from a portable gas tank. Upon arriving home I again smelled a strong odor of gas and noted my fuel gauge registered 3/4 of a tank ( despite driving < 30 miles since refueling). A very brisk gas leak was evident under pressure from a fuel hose fitting. …”
