“My truck has 4 backup collision warning sensors on the rear bumper. After some heavy rain, I have had 1 sensor start to indicate a close object as I start to back up my vehicle. There is no object back there. This initially occurred in a parking lot, but the problem now persists and the audible warning with a dash camera indicator light goes off whenever I back up the truck.”

NHTSA complaint #11385157, filed 2020-12, 2,700 miles

“Bought truck new first problem. Back up camara ...crash avoidance system not working paint missing ..took it back to Ford after a display of power train malfunction they reprogrammed the truck and said they would have to get with Ford on the paint and have heard nothing to this day ...left dealer got home back up camara quit again ....now floor board passenger side getting wet ...idles funny and engine sound like it developed a maratic tick knock sound so fixing to go back to dealer ....very aggrivating to pay the prices you pay for a truck and always have these problem repeated ...and yet…”

NHTSA complaint #11374223, filed 2020-11, 1,300 miles

“I brought my truck into Crown Ford in Lynbrook NY for an oil change and to have the rear camera recall repaired. They did not repair the camera and told me that they only work on the recall if there is a problem noticed by the driver or if the camera fails. I am going to bring it to another dealership to have it repaired.”

NHTSA complaint #11420252, filed 2021-06

“The rear backup camera does not work in cold weather when any kind of moisture is present. The screen doesn’t display anything useful and I am afraid it will cause me to have an accident. I have not brought it to the mechanic as I don’t currently have the money to investigate repairs.”

NHTSA complaint #11558827, filed 2023-12

“Forward collision warning (pre collision assist not available) message comes on while driving with no vehicles in front, driving under normal conditions. Cross traffic system rear - Not detecting vehicles, intermittent. Reported to dealer, no faults or issues were found. Since being at the dealer, the 2 issues continue intermittently. We have the Ford Pass app which records any/all alerts, I cannot download them at this time.”
