“Computer screen goes black. Sometimes this happen right when I start the truck, sometimes when put it in reverse and sometimes just while driving down the road. This started shortly after i purchased the truck in Feb 2025 and seems to be getting worse.”

NHTSA complaint #11678804, filed 2025-08

“There is a warning on my dash when the vehicle is placed in reverse: reverse brake assist not available see manual. This concern has a TSB attached to it. My concern is that given the safety nature of this concern affecting f150s and Ford mustangs; this should be covered by the manufacturer and not the consumer. Ford will repair, however, invoice the customer for the cost which I do not agree with. I am not certain how many vehicles are affected or if it rises to the occasion of a safety recall; but should be investigated further. Thank you!”

NHTSA complaint #11725583, filed 2026-03

“I am writing to bring to your attention a critical safety issue affecting my 2021 Ford F-150, caused by a recent SYNC software update. On or around August 2024, Ford issued a software update that has resulted in significant malfunctions in multiple vehicle systems, including intermittent freezing and non-responsiveness shortly after vehicle startup. These issues persist for several minutes, severely impairing safety features—most notably the federally mandated backup camera that all vehicles sold after 2018 are required to have for driver and pedestrian safety. …”

NHTSA complaint #11623033, filed 2024-10

“When a trailer is connected the right side trailer brake light fails to operate; the lights on the truck work properly. When the trailer has been recently disconnected warnings on the dash appear saying Blind spot and cross traffic alert deactivated trailer attached . I also get trailer left and right turn lamps fault check lamps warnings and the turn signal indicators flash at double speed. These things always clear up after a couple of days until a trailer has been connected and disconnected again. I have two different trailers and they both do the same thing. …”

NHTSA complaint #11558296, filed 2023-12

Additionally, the contact stated while driving 5-8 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated.
