Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“While the engine is running, the dual tanks cross-flow into one another. One tank has over-filled the other tank and visa versa to include spillage. I have contacted the local dealer and Ford about it but they say they can't do anything for me as far as a recall is concerned even though this issue was a safety recall issue in the past. I do not know if the previous owner addressed the recall but it is a problem right now. When I purchased the truck, I didn't know it had a cross-flow problem until someone told me something was leaking from under my truck. …”

NHTSA complaint #10853825, filed 2016-04, 46,300 miles

“I own a 1991 f150 pickup. Something is happining with fuel tanks. Its like fuel from the front tank is being transfered to the back tank, resulting in overflowing fuel from the back. I think the mfg. Should repair the problem as it is a bad safetly issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10128177, filed 2005-07, 135,000 miles

“F150 Ford fuel tank valves transferred front tank fuel to rear tank making rear tank overflow. City truck stopped me to tell me that gas was pouring all over the street.”

NHTSA complaint #10176629, filed 2006-12, 107,000 miles

“Recall 93v125000. My 1991 Ford f150 is experiencing the problem this recall addressed. I called the Ford 800# and they could not and would not tell me if my vehicle had this recall performed on it, to contact a dealer. I contacted a dealer who said they could not tell me either. I have owned the vehicle its entire life. Local Ford dealer, gwinnett place Ford. This safety related recall involves spillage of gasoline on our roads/environments, much less a safety issue causing an explosion and/or death. I can not get any help from Ford corporate or local Ford dealer.”

NHTSA complaint #10239034, filed 2008-08, 105,000 miles

“1991 Ford f150 developed problems with the fuel tank leaking. Fuel in the tank was leaking into the front tank causing the front tank to overflow. The manufacturer indicated there was a recall on this part but the consumer stated he never received a recall notice. The recall was only good for up to 150000 mile and the consumer's vehicle had 152299. The consumer feels there shouldn't be a limit on safety issues.”

NHTSA complaint #10129143, filed 2005-07, 152,299 miles
