2000 Ford F-350 SD Fuel system Problems

“Fuel tank strap has broken again.2nd time for the rear strap,front replaced 1 time. Also replaced gas tank in 2006 due to leak from rusting at seam,tank is starting to leak again. Tank dropped to the street when strap gave way last time,luckily I was going slow on a side street. Speaking with other owners of these trucks,f-350 superduty 2000 cab and chassis most are having or have had the same issues I am having.”

“I was traveling down the highway at 60 miles per hour when I heard a large bang. I stopped and didn't see anything until I stopped for gas. Gas was leaking out the fill hose and I looked under the truck and the gas tank strap had broke and the tank was verily hanging on. I purchased two straps to hold the tank in place until I could get to a Ford dealership. This is the same problem that Ford recalled the 150 and 250 models for. Luckily for me the tank did not rupture and catch fire. The 350 needs to be recalled to fix this problem before someone is killed.”

“Driving at 73 MPH on us 131 express way my truck all of a sudden lost all power to the fuel system. Causing my engine to shut down and causing me to loose power steering and power brakes. Causing me to take evasive measures to keep from getting rear ended and braking with both feet to get the truck safely stopped. In having my truck repaired at the Ford dealership they found that the computer module part number xc3z-12b599-aa shorted out causing the engine to shut down. “Plastic diesel fuel filter drain valve has deteriorated--dumping diesel fuel onto the engine while running at the rate of 10 to 25 drops per minute--the diesel fuel winds up on the road --- when turned off the entire contents of the diesel fuel filter (a pint or more) runs over the engine & onto the ground---pollution & fire hazard !!!!!!!”

“This issue was on a 2000 Ford f350 rescue truck on route to emergency call when engine shut down and lost all power like it was out of fuel 7.3 liter diesel and tank was full. Had unit towed to garage in king nc and $900.00 later after new fuel tank fuel filter and fuel pump to liner inside of tank came off and clogged the fuel system and engine Ford motor company was no help and said since the vehicle was out of warranty they would not do anything to resolve the cost issues.”
