“I was parking in a bettendort, iowa restaurant parking lot when my car surged forward. I applied the brakes, but car would not stop. It left the parking lot, crossed a sidewalk and went onto a street near an intersection. I kept applying the brakes, but car still wouldn't stop. It collided with an oncoming car, crossed over a median and finally stopped on another street across from the intersection.”
NHTSA complaint #10874616, filed 2016-06, 143,000 miles“The driver's door could not be opened from inside....had to lower window and reach outside to open the door. I have to do this all the time since this problem started. This is a safety problem in the event I lose power and am unable to open the window in order to open door in an emergency. Exiting is delayed.”
NHTSA complaint #10595031, filed 2014-05, 62,061 miles“I have a 2006 Ford Fusion that needs a paint job on the roof, because it is peeling. I bought the car new, and have owned it for less than two years. It has 39,000 miles on it, thus making it 3,000 miles out of warranty. Common sense and places I have taken it to consider this a defect.”
NHTSA complaint #10230330, filed 2008-06, 39,000 miles“2006 Ford Fusion: two safety issues 1. The dashboard on the passenger side near the air bag is warped/bulged. The air bag indicator flashes on every once in awhile. I am concerned the air bag will deploy causing harm. This is a major safety concern. 2. Complaint: cracking and popping in my front suspension when turning or going over bumps. About two years ago I took my car to a Ford dealership and they stated there was a technical service bulletin and a sub frame assembly kit needed installed. …”
NHTSA complaint #10555053, filed 2013-12, 50,000 miles“I bought a 2006 Ford Fusion and not even a month later the inside driver side handle cracked. I cant lock my door while driving or when I'm parked and I'm afraid it's going to make it to where I can't get out in case of an emergency!”
