NHTSA complaint #11195410, filed 2019-04, 150,000 miles“My rear passenger side door won't stay closed. The latch seems to be malfunctioning and it opened when I was driving. I wad able to oull over quickly and secure the door with rope but it still opens slightly. I probably use this door the least of all 4, so my biggest concern is that the other 3 doors are soon to follow.”
NHTSA complaint #11115349, filed 2018-08, 109,000 miles“I just parked the car, turned off the engine, and was unable to open the driver door from the inside. All of the other doors worked fine. I now have to unlock the doors, put the window down, and reach the outside door handle to open the driver door. It is difficult for someone with arthritis. This is also a severe safety hazard.”
NHTSA complaint #10521942, filed 2013-06, 97,000 miles“I parked my car in the garage and tried opening the driver side door. But the handle and lock would not work. So I have to roll down the window and open the door from the outside. Also the driver door will not lock. This is a very serious security issue. I was told that it was not covered under warranty but I didn't do anything to cause this. It is just very cheap parts and poorly designed.”
NHTSA complaint #10563520, filed 2014-02, 70,000 miles“I had stopped at a convenience store and when I tried to open the door the door handle wouldn't unlock. I had to climb out through the passenger side. I could open the door from the outside. This is the 2nd time the handle has broken. The first time was within the 1st year I purchased the car. I have taken it to the dealer to look at. Seems this is a recurring problem with this car.”
