“Driving down road in city, 25 MPH, approaching intersection to make right turn, began turning and halfway through turn the steering wheel locked in place and I could not complete the turn. Luckily no car was in left lane at light or I would have hit it. Stopped car just before hitting curb and building. Shut off, restarted and was able to get steering to work again. Taking to shop for evaluation.”
NHTSA complaint #10648969, filed 2014-10, 57,850 miles“While traveling at 65 MPH in traffic, the car completely shutdown. Dashboard lights appeared and the car lost all power, including power brakes and steering. Fortunately, I was able to maintain control of the vehicle while exiting the roadway. Due to the lack of steering and braking ability, I don't feel a person of smaller stature, I.e. My wife, would have been able to maintain control without being in an accident.”
NHTSA complaint #10625708, filed 2014-08, 41,292 miles“While attempting to make a u-turn to the left the steering suddenly fought against me in the middle of the turn and tried to straighten its self out. I'm a big guy and held the steering wheel, but someone with less strength would have lost control and crashed.”
NHTSA complaint #10692517, filed 2015-03, 64,000 miles“Takata recall I was in a wreak because the brakes in the floor when I was driving in the rain on the highway. The air bag in the steering wheel came out.”
NHTSA complaint #11063943, filed 2018-01, 124,000 miles“After hitting a bumpy road my brakes went to the floor and stopping power just went away. Checked at shop. All pads replaced. Fluid changed completely twice. Master cyl and hoses not leaking, now I have really weak braking system from the federally mandated system 49 cfr 571.135 - standard no. 135 that is installed in my car and cant get it repaired. Do I just throw a car I bought brand new away? Mileage 88000 started now at 92000. New tires and talked to Ford house but no one will commit to any answers. Have a student trying to drive this car in college and around town. …”
