2012 Ford Fusion Steering Problems

“Loud creaking noise when turning the steering wheel at low speeds. It does not occur when it is cold outside, but occurs at temperature 70+. It get's really loud at temperatures near 80 degrees and above. I am concerned it will fail while driving. Exact same issue as others. When I took vehicle to Ford, it was cold and they said nothing was wrong.”

“There is currently a recall for the part I had to replace for $3000 under code 15s18, but for some reason, my vehicle was not covered under this recall though it is the exact problem described in the recall and other Ford fusions of the same timeframe are covered. I lost and regained control of steering for some time until it eventually stopped working altogether.”

“2012 Ford Fusion sel electronic power steering assist light comes on , loss of power steering, has happened several times in recent weeks ,has almost caused me to hit a pedestrian, I see this year make and model are affected and also from the plant the car was manufactured by on the recall list but my car and dealership says it's not covered.”

“2012 Ford Fusion lost traction control and now lost all power steering. Dash states power steering assist fault. Usually if I turn car off then back on it will give power steering back. Today I did that about ten times and it still wouldn't give steering back. My car was stationary but driven home without power steering very carefully.”
