“My car is having trouble with the power streeting wheel. As I was driving my car the wheel tighten up and it was hard for me to turn. Power streering at fault is what flashes on the dashbored. I use my car to go to school and work and right now it's hard for me to do so. I went to the car dealer ship and they want two grand to fix it! They say I need rack and pinion.”
NHTSA complaint #11365469, filed 2020-10, 128,585 miles“My powersteering and advantrac both are still acting crazy. I was told that my VIN wasn't apart of the same recall that is currently issued for my 2012 Ford Fusion. At random times the powersteering notfication and advanctrac alert with come and my steering will with completely lock up with very little time from the alert. This has happened with both intown and highway driving.”
NHTSA complaint #11300374, filed 2020-01, 100,300 miles“There was a recall for the power steering assist and it was y taken in for service last year and today the power steering assist came on twice and I lost all power steering while driving the vehicle thank goodness I want going to fast and was able to pull the vehicle over and shut it off and back on and it was working again. This had happened a few months ago as well.”
NHTSA complaint #11220397, filed 2019-06, 111,000 miles“2012 Fusion with 62,000 miles. When stationary, it makes a sound when you turn the steering wheel just slightly either way. Mechanic says the electric rack and pinion is the problem and it sounds like this is a common issue. I don't think I should be having this issue at only 62,000 miles. This is a very expensive fix. Sounds to me like there should be a recall on this.”
NHTSA complaint #11165384, filed 2019-01, 62,000 miles“For no reason I got two warnings when driving stabilize and power steering. At the time my mom was driving. She couldn't turn as we were turning a corner and ended up in a ditch! From what I see this is a problem with a lot of other Ford fusions! And this isn't recalled? Theses shouldn't be going out already? My vehicle has 60k miles! We could have died!”
