“Brake pedal became soft and the braking distance was increased after ABS activation on snow/ice. I tapped the brakes to check how slick the road surface was, this activated the ABS. I then traveled 30 feet and applied the brakes to make a right hand turn, the brakes went nearly to the floor causing me to take the turn at a higher than safe speed.”
NHTSA complaint #11390457, filed 2021-01, 164,589 miles“I was driving the vehicle on a city street when the break ABS light came on. Took it to the Ford dealership and they informed me that the hydraulic control and the electric control where in need of repair at a total of $2749. This is a weird issue that seems like it should be recalled. The car was working perfectly and I have gotten all the tune ups and kept the car up.”
NHTSA complaint #11184693, filed 2019-03, 74,736 miles“Brakes began to feel spongy. I had a small accident when I could not brake causing damage to another's car. Replaced the brake pads, had the system bled but now I have no brakes. I have no brake pedal at all. Replaced the master cylinder, front calipe, brake booster, and brake still have no brake pressure at alll.”
NHTSA complaint #11209413, filed 2019-05, 99,000 miles“Brakes on 2012 Ford Fusion hybrid completely failed while driving on 8/30/19. My son was driving and was going 30 MPH. He used the parking brake to stop the car. I had the car towed to the Ford dealer service department 9/3/19. I am told the 'ABS module' failed. Cost for part is $700. Total repair cost $1400.”
NHTSA complaint #11253041, filed 2019-09, 2 miles“After going to several service places with my brakes they are yet giving issues having to pump them to stop. Power steering system assist shut down while driving and door latches won't open from the inside. The local Ford place said I need to contact Ford motor company because there are recalls for my issues but not for my VIN number and I need to get them added under my VIN so they can fix it with no charge.”
