“While backing out of driveway, suddenly all brake related warning lights came on and I lost brake pressure (pedal went to the floor) and I coasted almost to the opposite curb before pressing hard enough to stop. I towed vehicle to the dealer and was told this was an ABS module failure, and that there was currently no recall for this vehicle.”
NHTSA complaint #11385210, filed 2020-12, 99,500 miles“Safety recall 19s54 identifies brake problems for 06-10 Ford fusions. My car has the exact problem described in the recall, but after taking it to a dealer for repair, I was informed that it is not eligible for the repairs. It isn't safe to drive without the repairs. How can I get it included in the recall eligibility?”
NHTSA complaint #11388884, filed 2021-01, 56,000 miles“The brakes feel stuck and slow responding, with extended brake pedal travel. Also the check brake light appears. Match the symptoms for Ford Fusion recall 19s54, and was also built in hermosillo, mexico, and yet because my car is a hybrid, my car is not technically recalled, despite having the same, highly dangerous issues.”
NHTSA complaint #11360494, filed 2020-09, 100,000 miles“I understand there is a recall on most 2010 Ford Fusion brake control module. Unfortunately my VIN does not show up in this recall and the Ford dealership said this failure is exactly the same as the other ones they have seen. Once the dealership completed the repair, now they say the master cylinder is now also leaking which they agreed it was not when the car was brought in.”
NHTSA complaint #11350069, filed 2020-08, 103,000 miles“Unexpected increase of braking distance. When doing a k turn, I should be able to stop but the car continue to rolls when brake is pressed to the floor. This caused me to roll into a curb. This happens regularly but inconsistently. The car was going less then 5 miles an hour and took more then 5 feet to come to a complete stop with the pedal pressed all the way.”
