“Abs brake failure. This is a follow up to my previous report. Ford does not have a new hcu module available to correct this malfunction. I had to pay the labor for three used modules to be installed before the ABS system worked properly. Ford dealers continue to sell 2007 to 2009 Fusion and milans with this potential dangerous problem.”

NHTSA complaint #11075704, filed 2018-03, 36,000 miles

“I was driving my car in the city and came to a curved lane. I stepped on the brakes to slow down so that I could make a slight turn but don't remember the car slowing down. I then tried to stir the wheel so that I would not crash. At this point, I might have over corrected the stirring wheel leading the car to slid as the road was wet. I ended up hitting a pole.”

NHTSA complaint #11131835, filed 2018-09, 130,000 miles

“Ford has failed to provide a timely repair for my vehicle on a posted recall. They have taken over a year and still claim they do not have a remedy for this recall. It is NHTSA recall #19v904. My brakes need to be pushed nearly all the way to the floor in order to stop. This occurs any time I brake.”

NHTSA complaint #11384960, filed 2020-12, 202,020 miles

“The brake pedal goes soft when I brake on a rough, or uneven road. The pedal remains soft until the car is shut off, and not used for an extended time period of time. This has happened to me more than once. The first time was in late 2015. I spent over $500 getting a majority of the braking system replaced. It just happened again on monday, feb 13, 2017.”

NHTSA complaint #10955122, filed 2017-02, 155,000 miles

“Per your web site and investigation pe16017, my 2007 Fusion is exhibiting these exact symptoms regarding braking distance. Please be ensured this is a real problem that Ford should recall. It is frightening. I had to brake hard to avoid hitting someone. From that point forward, my brakes easily require 30-50% more pressure (sometimes more) to stop the vehicle.”
