2007 Ford Fusion Latches, locks and linkages Problems

“My 2007 Ford Fusion was purchased in 2011 and was financed, and I paid it off in december 2017. It since then only it has a 144,00 miles. It was purchased with lower mileage, of an estimation of 40,000 to 50,000 miles on it at final sale meaning it was a 2007 car, purchased in 2011, so that's a problem when before it had been paid off, and major problems of many. I would like a refund of a lesser equal to or equal value to my purchased car price from manufacture or dealership. …”

“The driver and passenger side door locks no longer work and I have to reach outside of the window to get out of the car when the door locks at all. I have seen online that this is a common issue yet the dealer has not issued a recall and they do not back up the part under any warranty. My fear is that in the event of a crash the door will fly open or that my vehicle will be broken into as the door no longer locks.”

“Interior door latch (driver's door) fails to open. I cannot get out of my car without rolling down the window and opening the door from the outside. Also door will not lock when car is locked. I have read several complaints on this NHTSA site and other forums with numerous other people who are experiencing the same problem with their Ford Fusion. Please investigate this issue and initiate a recall if warranted on the interior door latches of the Ford Fusion. …”

“Driver side, rear door opened, passengers exited. I, myself, closed the door behind them and the door simply flew back open. Door will not latch. Door will not shut. Not manually, not by key. Locking mechanism on car will not work. I had to drive home in the back seat and literally hold the door shut so that my passengers would not fall out of the car. I have 3 children and one on the way. I cannot sit in the back and hold the door shut if I need to use the car. Car is well maintained, all service's done strictly by Ford. I was quoted a price range of $3-400 to get it fixed.”

“While l was driving on wet pavement with the speed control engaged and set to 35 MPH, I rounded the top of a hill and the vehicle began to speed up as usual. I applied the brakes lightly to maintain 35 MPH and the speed control failed to disengage and spun the left front tire until black smoke was rolling out from under the fender. It lasted a few seconds before it released. I had a Ford dealer check the brakes to see if the left front caliper had a problem and they did not find a problem. They also had no solution for the speed control failing to disengage. …”
