“Door handles and locks are not functioning properly. Passenger front door handle (and sometimes the driver door) does not open from the inside, posing a safety concern. If car was to catch on fire, passenger would have to roll down window to exit the vehicle. Also some doors lock and some do not. Not a saftey concern, but certainly an issue. My son had a 2006 Ford Fusion that did the same exact thing as I noted above, therefore, is an issue with these Ford fusions.”

NHTSA complaint #11101293, filed 2018-06, 215,000 miles

“Brakes - on many occasions while driving on the highway and city street I find I have to press the brake all the way to the floor for the car to fully stop and I have been in many close call fender benders. Electrical - the left turn signal stopped working in route to work ,so I assumed the bulb blew out. However, when driving the car again the turn signal started working again. For the two weeks the left turn signal worked intermittently which made me very nervous when making left turns. …”

NHTSA complaint #11056737, filed 2017-12, 104,000 miles

“Car jolted then went in to like a first gear with high RPM. All gauges went to zero and all dashboard things stopped, including radio. Put in neutral, all gauges returned to normal and all lights functioned. Put back in drive and the same issuer with gear, speed, gauges, etc. Returned. Back in neutral so I could use hazard lights but then the entire car shut down. Had to tow to a dealership where the are telling me the throttle body has failed and needs replaced.”

NHTSA complaint #10614602, filed 2014-07, 111,123 miles

“Lost power while trying to pass a car had no throttle and almost had a head on collision got got home had a air injection code p0491 in the system. Found a bad air injection pump loaded with water replaced the air pump and the problem is solved I see Ford has a lot of issues with water getting into these pumps but refuses to do anything about it.contacted Ford with no response. I worked in Ford dealerships for over 25 years so I know how to diagnose these problems. …”

NHTSA complaint #10522381, filed 2013-06, 93,500 miles

“I was unable to remove the key from the ignition. A bit of research revealed that this could be due to a faulty part in the gear shifter. After messing around with the shifter for several minutes, it finally locked fully into park and I was able to remove the key.”
