“I was driving down the street. My car had no signs of trouble. Suddenly smoke started coming from the heat vents on the dash. I was able to pull into a parking lot and get out of the vehicle. At this time I saw flames coming out from under the hood. I called 911. By the time of arrival of the fire dept the car was fully involved in flames.”
NHTSA complaint #11172771, filed 2019-01, 60,000 miles“Leaving gas station. Car just stops driving while in the driving gear. So I pulled over slowly to the side of the road and I had a warning to 'see manual' 'hill assistant not available' 'stop safely now' and it was showing traction control on. It will not drive. And runs weird now.”
NHTSA complaint #11398839, filed 2021-03, 101,442 miles“My car idles roughly, and has stalled while driving. It has no outstanding recalls, and still happened. A few months ago it was happening, and on my way to a repair shop, overheated, and did over $700 worth of damage. Now, a few months later, it's got a rough idle and stalled on me yesterday as well. I was slowing down to take an exit, but took the exit with no power. Restarted the car and was able to drive it home.”
NHTSA complaint #11319815, filed 2020-03, 102,000 miles“I was making a turn when my power steering went out and there was a message saying power steering assist fault. I took it to the car dealership where I had purchased my car and they said it was the electric power steering gear and I had researched that some previous cars had been recalled for that exact problem.”
NHTSA complaint #11093455, filed 2018-05, 78,967 miles“Takata recall my car caught fire and burned. The fire started while driving but I was unaware. I just kept smelling popcorn smell. I then got to my destination , parked the car 5 min. Later the fire department came in and asked if any was driving a white Ford Fusion. It's was bbot quit 2 years old and had less then 50 k miles.”
