“Front passenger door flew open while driving on a city street with my daughter in the front seat, she had to hold the door shut until I could pull over. I had it repaired last thursday and today (sunday), the sa.e thing happened to the rear passenger door! We found the recall online today when I entered my VIN. Nobody was hurt thankfully and the car was not damaged.”
NHTSA complaint #11228552, filed 2019-06, 101,000 miles“The door latch on the drivers side door failed during operation and the door opened while underway. Taken to Ford to be fixed as I have seen other issues with the door latch failing on the same vehicle. Ford said this was not a recalled part. The door opened and would not latch shut again causing me to try use by belt as a strap to keep the door shut.”
NHTSA complaint #11154533, filed 2018-11, 64,000 miles“My door wont latch and comes open when driving. It is a severe safety issue and needs to be fixed and I feel that the manufacturers should be held accountable. I was driving with someone when the door came open and when we tried shutting it we noticed it opens and just wont shut no matter what you do.”
NHTSA complaint #11322279, filed 2020-04, 138,000 miles“Takata recall passenger door came open while driving home from work on 6/29/17. Door latch will not latch onto the frame of the vehicle while attempting to shut door. Current status of the situation is an appt with my local Ford dealership on 7/10/17. No recall on my VIN but there is a current recall on 2013-2014 Fusion models assemblied in mexico.”
NHTSA complaint #11002377, filed 2017-06, 3 miles“Takata recall: we have received three recalls, 2014 (airbag), 2015 (door latch), and 2016 (seatbelt) which were told we are on a waiting list because our light wasn't on and they would call us when parts came in. Just received notification in mail about takata recall. Ford dealer never notified us and I want these fixed immediately.”
