“The door is not latching shut it pops open when it feels like it . Driving down the street in the door popped open and it wouldn't shut also seems like the transmission won't stay in park at times it jumps when I'm driving it takes a while for it to go into gear I had it in park one day and the car was still moving”

NHTSA complaint #11339470, filed 2020-07, 130,101 miles

“I have had 2 door latch failures on my vehicle within 7 months of each other. The first one was my driver door, 2nd failure was my rear passenger door. I contacted Ford motor corporation, and they advised me these were supposedly already fixed under the recall that the vehicle previous had. The first door latch failed on 07/06/2019, the 2nd failure happened on 1/19/2020. The failure has caused the doors open and not latch close even when the vehicle is in motion. I have had to pay for both of these repairs out of pocket when it is clearly a safety issue. …”

NHTSA complaint #11300736, filed 2020-01, 25 miles

“My door latches have broken on three of my four doors. Each time it is like pulling teeth to get a part. On the second time, I went in to get it fixed, it took 2 1/2 weeks. Asked dealership to check the other two doors, said fine. The next time I open the door that was checked door would not close.. Had to bring it back and told them I would not leave with out other doors being fixed. The dealership fixed the broken one, but told me they can not fix the other one until it is a problem . …”

NHTSA complaint #10743391, filed 2015-07, 12,000 miles

“In october 2012 I purchased a 2013 Ford Fusion se 1.6l engine with eco boost, which now has approximately 26,000 miles on it. The left side hood latch is not functioning properly preventing the hood from latching securely on that side. It is a significant concern for me that the hood may release in full while the vehicle is in motion. The overall safety of this vehicle becomes of greater concern to me given this recent issue in light of the three prior safety recalls on this specific Fusion model.”

NHTSA complaint #10621169, filed 2014-08, 26,617 miles

“The drivers door flew open while I was driving. The door would not latch after it opened on its own. This is the second time this has happened to me on this vehicle, yet my car is not included in the recall for this problem NHTSA campaign number: 15v246000. The reason for this is the recall is for vehicles made up until 5-31-13, and my door sticker reads 6-13. My vehicle is obviously still affected by the issue and in fact my original window sticker is dated 5-29-13 and should be included in the recall. I do not feel the vehicle is reliable or safe to drive....updated 03-10-16 updated 04/25/18”
