“There is an existing recall in effect (NHTSA recall 15v250000) for Ford Fusion vehicles that could experience a dangerous lack of vehicle control due to the loss of power steering. I have a Ford Fusion energi 2013 (model year overlapping that of the existing issue), experiencing a loss of power steering. Is there a reason my VIN/model were not included?”

NHTSA complaint #11388663, filed 2021-01, 65,000 miles

“Iissue 1) put the back seat down to get into trunk and it wont go back up due to the seat belts issue. Because I dont really use the back seat, I havent bothered to get it fixed and pay for it out of my pocket. 2) driving over 55 MPH, car lost power steering. I see others have had same issues with these 2 components of the 2013 Fusion, yet no recall. This makes no sense to me.”

NHTSA complaint #11344188, filed 2020-08, 140,000 miles

“It has been reported that 2014-2018 Ford Fusion steering wheel can come loose and in some cases detach while driving. I'd like to report that my 2013 Fusion titanium is also experiencing a loose steering wheel that's progressively getting looser. It has not detached during driving. I first noticed it about 4 months ago. I was driving when I first noticed it.”

NHTSA complaint #11079885, filed 2018-03, 98,500 miles

“Power steering failure message lit up on dash while traveling down the road at approx 40 MPH. Power steering seemed fine. After parking the car and leaving it several hours, started the car and message came back and car had no power steering assist. I was lucky that I was not traveling down he road when failure occurred.”

NHTSA complaint #11195801, filed 2019-04, 105,000 miles

“Steer assist fault when I was on I-95, from providence to boston. There was no prior warning, just a sudden lost of assist, and steer became too heavy to handle. It almost resulted to a car accident. I checked online and found out about a recall for similar steer assist fault reasons on Ford Fusion, but my car for whatever reason was not included in that recall.”
