“Break pedal becomes spongy after hitting a pothole. Currently at the dealership they are trying to replace the master break cylinder, but that didn't work. The next move is to replace the mcu. I have read multiple similar reports here to mine. I'm very concerned this is a factory defect that is revealing itself to be dangerous and costly to Ford consumers.”

NHTSA complaint #11221327, filed 2019-06, 74,000 miles

“I drove over a set of bumpy railroad tracks and about a 1/4 mile down the road, when I went to stop, my brake pedal went to the floor. I still had some brake pressure to stop though. I made it to a parking lot to check for leaks but did not see any. I pumped the brakes and I got my brake pressure back and the brake pedal was back to normal.”

NHTSA complaint #11113643, filed 2018-07, 160,000 miles

“While driving my Ford Fusion the brake pedal went all the way to the floor and the car kept moving. I was able to pull the emergency brake in time so that I did not collide into the vehicle that was stopped in front of me. I have contacted my Ford multiple times to have car repaired due to recall and my recent brake failure issue and they have told me that they do not have a fix for my car.”

NHTSA complaint #11317491, filed 2020-03, 93,000 miles

“The ABS system is faulty, the brakes lock up when on the least amount of ice or snow and now the pedal requires pumping or it will go to the floor. It used to correct itself but now seems to be permanent. While I have been able to stop the car I am concerned about my safety, what if it stops working at all? If can happen from any speed.”

NHTSA complaint #11063050, filed 2018-01, 105,000 miles

“We received a safety recall notice in january for recall 19v-904. There was no fix offered at that time. I checked with the dealer today, who said there is still no fix or parts available. With a recall notice like this involving a brake pedal potentially going to the floor, this is unacceptable.”

NHTSA complaint #11349960, filed 2020-08, 135,000 miles
