“For the past month the check engine light has appeared and stayed on for a brief time. Now it stays on . I have had a diagnostic test done and the results were p2112, p0721 and p2104. There appear to be a bad app sensor, throttle actuator control system-forced idle, stuck closed and failed ECM. If this is included in any recall, please let me know asap. This is the only vehicle I have and my lively-hood depends on it.”

NHTSA complaint #10550126, filed 2013-10, 108,252 miles

“Driving the other day I lost brakes and almost had an accident with another vehicle. The brake light came on along with the service light. Which is still on. Drive home variously in low gear when needed. When in low gear I heard a constant grinding noise. Still patiently waiting on my takata air bag replacement thru Ford. This vehicle is new to me and I haven't made my first payment yet. Only has 40k for mileage. As is common with most Ford cats. I asks experienced surges in the vast. My lay cast was an 04 taurus.”

NHTSA complaint #11090924, filed 2018-04, 40,000 miles

“While merging onto a freeway my car experienced a sudden loss of power while driving. Shortly afterwards my check engine light came on and I took it to the dealer to see what it was. It was a bad catalytic converter I was told that it would take 4 weeks to get one in. Meanwhile it being my only car I asked and was denied a loaner vehicle from Ford motor co. And I was told that the vehicle was still safe to drive as long as I did not let it goo too long without the repair. …”

NHTSA complaint #10616773, filed 2014-07, 38,000 miles

“I have twice now experienced a catastrophic engine/power train failure while at speed and in traffic. While driving and without any prior notice, my car immediately shuts down. During which the engine stalls, power brakes fail, and steering wheel locks. Luckily I was in a position in traffic where I could quickly engage the hazard lights and allow plenty of reaction time for other drivers to avoid me. After the car has stalled and lost all power, that is when the warning lights (engine and wrench) come on the dash. …”

NHTSA complaint #10692416, filed 2015-03, 63,976 miles

“During the night our 2009 Ford Fusion rolled down are driveway and ended up almost in the street. I could see the tire marks in the snow and see that it did in fact roll, I checked the gearshift and it was in park. I pushed on the car and it rolled a little more then stopped. Service manager at the dealership said there was another car in for the same problem. Guy at the car rental shop said that alot of their fusions had to have the transmissions replaced.”
