Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“Recall 24S51 from Ford says that 87,000 Maverick trucks have had the wiper motor fail due to moisture getting into the housing due to a sealant problem with the supplier. The recalled VINs can have a free inspection and replacement. I believe my VIN is also impacted by this problem because 37 months and 31,000 miles into my car, my wipers failed. I was driving in light rain and the wipers would only go up about 6 from their resting position before returning to the resting position, then repeat the same thing. …”

NHTSA complaint #11739600, filed 2026-05

“I had the recall work done for the back up camera that freezes while I am reversing. After the recall has been completed, it still freezes/glitches while I'm backing up. Nothing changed after they performed the recall work. I do believe that the technician performed the work he was told to, but it hasn't accomplished anything. The rear view camera still takes a few seconds to engage once I put the car in reverse, and while I am in reverse, actively backing up the car, the camera feed freezes repeatedly on-screen.”

NHTSA complaint #11654006, filed 2025-04

“My windshield appears to be rattling against the dash which I’ve read for others causes windshield to crack. Afraid this will happen to me. Appears many mavericks have this issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11503086, filed 2023-01

“When having the vehicle in reverse, the rear-camera’s image oftentimes freezes for several moments which causes unreal expectations of what is actually in the rear and how close objects actually are. This has caused fear to my wife, and she prefers not to drive the vehicle in part due to this unresolved issue.”

NHTSA complaint #11643923, filed 2025-02

“Just took delivery of this new vehicle. The windshield is pitted and this leads to difficulty in cleaning the windshield with the wiper fluid and wipers as a result of the increased surface area and surface roughness. In addition, when the sun is low in the sky visibility is affected by the pitting causing excess refraction.”
