“Driving at approximately 65 miles per hour. Vehicle suddenly went into neutral I was forced to pull over on a busy highway. The dashboard was illuminated with several warning lights and messages. After one key cycle, I was only able to drive in a limited limp mode. After a second key cycle and waiting a few minutes, I was able to drive like normal but an engine light stayed illuminated.”
NHTSA complaint #11603646, filed 2024-07“5th INCIDENT: On 06/09/2024, at approximately 5:25pm, I was pulling up to a stop sign after just leaving my home. Traveling about 10mph I began applying the brakes and vehicle suddenly lurched to a complete stop and shifted itself into park. Various warning prompts, chimes and cluster lights came on (see attached photos). Vehicle then accelerated all on its own without any pressure on the gas pedal. This is the 3rd such incident in nine (9) days. …”
NHTSA complaint #11593341, filed 2024-06“Receiving daily Battery Saver Mode notices telling me some remote features including lock/unlock may temporarily be unavailable. Not to use my AC and go for longer rides, which I have done with no change. My interior lights are not coming on. My radio powers off and on while driving. Constant clicking and noises come from the vehicle when turned off. Difficulties starting the vehicle at times. Feel power losses when driving and accelerating, feel like I could be rear ended when this happens. …”
NHTSA complaint #11741803, filed 2026-06“Was driving my Maverick in a 35mph area an it felt like it had a 'sloppy transmission shift and immediately lost power. It did not shut down, but with the gas engine running it had a top speed around 35mph and extremely slow acceleration, I had to use my 4way flashers. When it went into electric mode (hybrid) it would accelerate without any pressure on the throttle. Very dangerous. Check engine light, transmission light (wrench), and front collusion light all came on. …”
NHTSA complaint #11581743, filed 2024-04“Started Vehicle, pulled out of a parking spot and I slowly approached an intersection, the engine accelerated at a high rpm/rate without touching the gas pedal, I immediately firmly applied brakes, the card was jerking and shaking hard working against brakes, I immediately turned car off. It could have easily ran into a car or person, being that I was on a city street with pedestrians crossing and car traffic. When I restarted, it did not want to move at all. I then restarted it a second time and it drove normal. No lights or warnings appeared. …”
