“I’ve been noticing that when I am on the freeway and I am increasing my speed to highway speed and between 55 mph to 65 mph the vehicle vibrates like possible suspension issue. This morning at about 2:13 AM when I had just got to a stop sign and my foot was physically on the break. I noticed that the engine revved up so because I was concerned I made sure I stayed where I was with my foot on the break until the engine came back down to the proper idle.”
NHTSA complaint #11771028, filed 2026-10“I was feeling a shaking throughout while driving. I took it into the dealership to have it looked at as it is a fairly new vehicle with less than 25k miles on it. They informed me that both of the CV Axles had gone out and were replaced. I was so shocked as those are supposed to last a fairly long time on a vehicle. I researched and it appears several Maverick owners have experienced the same thing, with some stating they be gone out twice before 34k miles and some as early as 10k miles. …”
NHTSA complaint #11658694, filed 2025-05“Started to develop a rumble/stumble upon acceleration. It seems to be getting worse. Finally took it in the dealer. The dealer confirmed that it is the CV axles. They need replacing. Dealer said no parts in stock and not sure when they will arrive. WTH. I asked about driving and they said keep on motoring. What. How can this be good for all the other connected parts! It shutters so bad I am not confident it will not cause me to have an accident. This is a major issue with the drive-line components. …”
NHTSA complaint #11628223, filed 2024-12“On acceleration from a stand still or in motion, the vehicle will start to shake/wobble pretty violently. It will go away when letting go of the gas. Seems to be coming from the front end wheels. Going under the car and checking all connecting points, the CV axle has a lot of play. You can move it around.”
NHTSA complaint #11659842, filed 2025-05“The CV drive shift on either the driver side or passenger side of tbe hybrid model is going bad prematurely, currently at 20,000 miles but multiple other Maverick Hybrid owners have experienced the same issues and this is a safety risk as it could break while driving and cause an accident. …”
