“Received error code p2111, the car will bog down without notice and I cannot accelerate. This happens often and it does not matter if I am going slow or fast. The research I have done shows this to be a faulty throttle body. I found a website which shows affected owners should contact Ford and mention consumer satisfaction program 13n03. I plan on calling joe myers Ford in houston, tx tomorrow 3/5/14.”
NHTSA complaint #10567086, filed 2014-03, 40,000 miles“With no warning the electronic throttle body will fail causing the car to rapidly decelerate to its idle speed. In my case it happened on a city street in heavy traffic while the car was in motion. The motorist behind me almost rear-ended my car, and several other had to come to a screeching halt. The problem is dangerous, since it can occur at any time in traffic. It continued to happen after turning the engine off and back on. …”
NHTSA complaint #10780977, filed 2015-10, 60,100 miles“The last two mustangs I purchased (both were new cars) developed electrical issues after the warranty expired. My current 2011 Mustang has had numerous electrical issues within the cabin of the car. In addition to the electrical issues, the hood developed problems with the paint such as bubbling, peeling and rusting. My frustration with Ford grows more intense each time the air-conditioner, along with numerous other devices associated with the dashboard, quits operating and the windows will not function. I often find myself encountering this issue on a ninety plus degree day. …”
NHTSA complaint #11376633, filed 2020-11, 85,000 miles“When the car was about 3 years old, I started to feel a quick loss of power in the steering when making a turn. It had only lasted a second and only happened at low speed in parking lots but happen while I was driving so I took it to the Ford dealer in fullerton ca. They said it was a software problem and they updated the software. The problem disappeared but then reappeared about a year later. I continued to drive it cause it was only occasionally at low speed for a half second in parking lots. …”
NHTSA complaint #10785689, filed 2015-10, 44,000 miles“I am having major electrical issues which Ford will not address. Sometimes this is intermittent, sometimes it is constant. Here is what happens: I get a barrage of errors on the dash, the radio and air conditioner will cycle on and off multiple times (sometimes will remain off); rear brake lights stop working, rear turn signal stops working. It does this randomly, sometimes for an extended period. I worry that someone may not check the brake lights or turn signal and be severely injured or killed in an accident. I have alerted Ford about this and believe that it fell on deaf ears. …”
