“I noticed a year and a half ago the paint on the hood was bubbling up so I went to 2 dealerships and asked what can be done. Both said nothing. It has to rust before something can be done. Now, half of the front of the hood's paint has bubbled up and peeled off. This cheap paint issue should be a recall for Ford.”
NHTSA complaint #10913598, filed 2016-10, 40,000 miles“There were many incidents with my Mustang 5.0 but this was the most significant. The problem is as I found out two years later is that the width of the oem tires and wheels are too narrow for the weight and power of this vehicle. I was driving on el camino real and I had to stop suddenly because a car came on the road unexpectedly and the driver in front of me hit the brakes and so I did but my car just kept sliding forward, it lost grip with the asphalt completely. …”
NHTSA complaint #10592941, filed 2014-05, 30,000 miles“The last two mustangs I purchased (both were new cars) developed electrical issues after the warranty expired. My current 2011 Mustang has had numerous electrical issues within the cabin of the car. In addition to the electrical issues, the hood developed problems with the paint such as bubbling, peeling and rusting. My frustration with Ford grows more intense each time the air-conditioner, along with numerous other devices associated with the dashboard, quits operating and the windows will not function. I often find myself encountering this issue on a ninety plus degree day. …”
NHTSA complaint #11376633, filed 2020-11, 85,000 miles“I was recently in a wreck and the airbags deployed. My car is stuck at the body shop because they can not get an airbag for it. My insurance on my rental car will be up in 2 weeks, the car would have been fixed already it just had minor front end damage and the windshield crack due to the airbag and the airbag injured my right arm. It never should deployed in the first place the impact was not even that severe. I have contacted Ford multiple times and they never get back with me this is beginning to get very frustrating. …”
NHTSA complaint #10901921, filed 2016-08, 73,000 miles“I have a 2011 Mustang that I keep covered and clean always. This month the paint on the front edge of the hood started bubbling. I took it to my local Ford dealership and was told that they have known about this problem for years and have done nothing and would do nothing to fix it. They told me to call Ford. I called Ford and they told me to take it to the dealership and write a letter of complaint to Ford. Nothing is resolved. If there is a class action lawsuit on this matter, please add my name to the list of customers who have been wronged. …”
