“It's the 4th time in the last 3 weeks that the passenger door which is locked just opens on its own. I start to hear the air hissing and I get a door open alarm in the dashboard. Scary because 2x it was while on I -4 and almost lost control of the car trying to figure out what was happening and trying to reach for the door.”

NHTSA complaint #11754318, filed 2026-08

“The Mustang window is supposed to retract approximately 1/2 when the door is opened or shut. My vehicle does this BUT the window will not return to the fully closed position when the door is shut. This is a safety Hazzard as the window tries to fully close but then goes down a 1/2 and returns to fully closed repeatedly while I am driving; this leads to driver distraction on the road, a very hazardous situation. It also leaves the vehicle vulnerable to theft as with the window 1/2 down it is very easy for a thief to stick in a wire and activate the automatic door unlocks.”

NHTSA complaint #11578073, filed 2024-03

“The contact owns a 2022 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the convertible top required excessive force to be opened or closed. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.”

NHTSA complaint #11580432, filed 2024-04, 100,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2022 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the convertible roof failed to latch and close properly. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the handle failed to connect with the latching system. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to determine a fix for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided a claim number and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 761.”
