It cranks, but the ignition does not turn over until she depresses the accelerator pedal. The vehicle would stall at least ten to twelve times before it would start. She took the vehicle to a mechanic and was informed that the fuel injectors and brake switch interlock were the causes of the failure. The vehicle is also stuck in park and will not move. In order to start the vehicle, she has to turn the ignition off and shift into neutral. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 120,000. …”
NHTSA complaint #10256081, filed 2009-01, 120,000 miles“I was told by the dealer that the problem I encountered with my vehicle is a known problem with my model year as the manufacturer has issued a TSB. The problem with the vehicle manifest itself by stalling when deceleration is occurring. The stalling occurs ramdomly with the engine operating at normal to slightly elevated temperature. Ability to steer the vehicle becomes very difficult one the vehicle has stalled and this is usually the first indication that a stall has occurred. I believe this stalling represent a serious safety issue with this vehicle, one the manufacturer is aware of.”
