“When the anti theft light comes on vehicle will not start for two-three hours. Vehicle stops in the middle of the street. Dealer can find any defect in the vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #10097654, filed 2004-10, 43,126 miles

“Front passenger seat belt stopped retracting and was not usable for the passenger (who happened to be my teenager) I had taken it to be repaired three previous times. Was told that it was not a defect and that I had to pay 152 dollars this time to have it repaired since the car is now not under warranty but was under warranty the first 3 previous attempts to fix the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10218422, filed 2008-02

“This is the second time I have had this problem. My emission control light is back on again. It came on before and there was some hesitation when pressing the gas pedal. The first time they replaced some part dealing with the gas filter. It is doing the same thing again. Is this a recurring problem with Ford Taurus?”

NHTSA complaint #10075197, filed 2004-06

“I pulled into my driveway after work and was going to park my car when I heard this crunch sound. I then noticed that the car was sitting lopsided on the rear passenger side and since then the car has been making crunching sounds. The dash lights also went out along w/the heater. It no longer blows cold air it is always hot air and the temperature is at its lowest. This all started w/a vacuum leak. The passenger side seat belt also retracted slow and now it doesn't even retract. This car seems to have one problem after another and all at once. …”

NHTSA complaint #10204214, filed 2007-09

“On 12/2/04 I brought my vehicle to Ford for a repair. My cruise control was not disengaging from the steering wheel, I had to step on the brake to accomplish this. The repair was done. I had no further problems with this until aprox 12/14/05. The same exact problem recurred with the cruise control not disengaging from the steering wheel. When I contacted the Ford dealer who did the original repair, I was told I would have to pay for the service repair since they only warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles. I feel this is a safety hazard. …”
