“I took my truck in to the local Gmc dealership for the recall fix and they ask if I wanted a diagnosis on the truck for a charge . I said yes cause I had a check engine light on and service air bag light on. Which they both came on a week after I bought it. So the service advisor told me that the belt tensioner is out on the drivers side and that the wiring under the drivers seat is messed up. And they told me some other things that were wrong with my truck that I have since found out were false. But I asked him if the seat belt and working issue is covered under a safety warranty. …”

NHTSA complaint #11324014, filed 2020-05, 118,976 miles

“The seatbelts in the rear seats do not fit children properly. My son is currently the age of 9 and is approximately 100 lbs. So he no longer can use a booster seat, however the seatbelt is still not placed accross his chest appropriately when riding in the vehicle. With recommendations to have children ride in the back seat,a s it is safer for them, it would be nice to have a sliding seatbelt retractor like the front seats passenger and driver. I am hopeful that when manufacturering an y new models this could be achieved to make our children safer as a passenger in a motor vehicle.”

NHTSA complaint #11202546, filed 2019-04, 70,000 miles

“Rear seat belt is not retracting properly. Slack remains in the seat belt when fastened. Occupant has to manually feed the belt into the opening to allow the belt to tighten, but any time the occupant move, causing the belt to extend, there is slack introduced again, the seat belt ratchet will not retract the slack, and the belt does not remain firmly in place. This happens in all driving conditions, parked or moving.”

NHTSA complaint #11300379, filed 2020-01, 80,000 miles

“Gm seat belt recall was performed but the dealer at GM's direction hacked the interior trim piece to correct defect. This is a different fix than they perform on the unsold models and is not acceptable or ethical on a truck that cost +30,000.00”

NHTSA complaint #10899725, filed 2016-08, 24,000 miles

“My drivers side seat belt cable broke. I did some research and there was a recall no. 16V209000. I took my vehicle to Swickard GMC dealer in Anchorage AK to get repaired and they fixed the seatbelt but told me it wasnt covered under the recall because the recall had already been completed in 2015. The issue with the seat belt breaking is exactly the issues in the recall and believe the recall was not completed or was completed unproperly.”
