“My truck only has 50000 miles and the air conditioner no longer blows cold air. I recharged they AC system an two months later it again only blows warm air. Did research and numerous owners of this vehicle are having the same issue. Some have had it repaired and it has been identified as a faulty weld at the compressor. A manufacturer defect that GM refuses to repair.”
NHTSA complaint #11079657, filed 2018-03, 48,500 miles“A/c stopped cooling last spring/summer. I live in louisiana so driving without A/C was not an option, especially with children and elderly parents . I was told that this was a nationwide issue due to a faulty design, but that Gmc would not pay to repair it. I had to pay over $1,000 out of pocket to get this fixed. Gmc needs to reimburse everyone who has had this problem.”
NHTSA complaint #11091295, filed 2018-05, 50,000 miles“Air conditioner started blowing hot air in november/december 2016 at or around 50k miles. In june 2017, paid a Gmc dealership to diagnose the vehicle. Results show a condenser leak.. Contacted GM customer care dept. (spoke to beth). Beth confirmed the diagnosis, informed me of the backorder, then informed me that GM would not provide cost assistance for the repairs.”
NHTSA complaint #11003490, filed 2017-07, 60,000 miles“The AC condenser was leaking, which made the AC blow hot air. After much research, this has been an ongoing, and known, issue that has not been addressed. Many individuals have been taken advantage of monetarily (me just yesterday) because of this issue, and needs to be recalled. I just had hip surgery, and the cost of repair really put a financial strain on me. I live in texas, and no AC is not an option.”
NHTSA complaint #11076679, filed 2018-03, 78,000 miles“Ac problem - my AC just went out for the third time since I bought this truck new in 2013. I went to have it repaired and was quoted ~$1,000 for a new AC condenser. After researching online, it looks like this is a very common and expensive problem that GM hasn't resolved.”
