“My telematics onstar unit went bad at 37,200 miles. No onstar, no SOS, no hands free driving, etc. I paid roughly 3k for the extended subscription servies for three years. Like many others who have this problem, dealer/GM will not replace the faulty unit even though I still had time left on my on my subscription. Apparantly its a common problem.”

NHTSA complaint #11711492, filed 2026-01

“While driving down the highway, then without any warning the front upper lip of truck grille flew off randomly. The broken piece shattered windshield and caused damage to body of vehicle. Reported to dealer, but they said I must have hit something to cause the damage. I did not hit anything. I was simply driving down the highway. This was a failure of the truck.”

NHTSA complaint #11630570, filed 2024-12

“Top Grill/Hood trim piece - it is separate from the main Grill. It detached and flew off at interstate speed. Thank God it missed several cars behind me. The passenger side corner came loose and before I could safely make my way off the interstate the piece ripped all the way across and flew over the top of the truck. May have gone 30 feet in the air prior to landing on the asphalt between the two lanes.”

NHTSA complaint #11754992, filed 2026-08

“The stereo turned all the way up and the sound buttons on the steering wheel plus the manual volume button were not responsive and it would not turn off. I turned the truck off and it still was on for 15 minutes. I turned it from Sirius XM to FM and then the volume worked but it hurt my ears and should never happen again.”

NHTSA complaint #11624378, filed 2024-11

“Tailgate open/clise module continues to open without me hitting the auto release device in the truck OR fob. NOTE: GMC built in Quebec! It resulted in a call to the dealership this spring, an inspection and they indicated it was fine. The tailgate opened while I was parking my new Airstream and it caused damage to the propane tanks and tanks cover AND $1700 damage to my tailgate.”
